Friends of Spring Grove School (FOSGS)

Who are we and what do we do?

FOSGS are a committee of parents who organise fundraising events for the school. Having a child at the school you are automatically a member of FOSGS. It’s a great way to be involved with the school and get to know other parents. Meetings are held once or twice a term and are quite informal.

Events we have hosted….

Afternoon tea-book sales, Christmas cracker, Quiz night, Family quiz night, Queen’s Diamond Jubilee afternoon tea, Ice lolly sales and Toddler group and our summer event OLYM-PICNIC

How we spend the money you help to raise…

In the past we have helped to contribute many items to the school. Last year we bought a Fish tank for the office area, provided year 6 with leavers sweat-shirts and we paid for their end of year school trip.

Also last year, we were very pleased to be able to provide every child from Spring Grove School with a sporting treat to celebrate the 2012 OLYMPICS. We also provided the children with a sporting medal for them to keep.

PLANNING THE EVENTS

The events we plan take a bit of organising and we are always grateful for help. This may be in the form helping to set up, running stalls or tiding up after events. We would also like to see more parents at meeting to help with ideas for future events. We cannot make events possible without the help of Spring Grove school parents. Why not think about becoming a more active member of FOSGS and come along to our next meeting.

  • Welcome

We offer you a warm welcome and thank you for showing an interest in Spring Grove Primary School.

Spring Grove is a happy school with a positive and inclusive ethos, within which we aim to make everyone feel safe, secure and valued. We are proud of our diverse cultural community and encourage all children to achieve their personal best, academically and socially. We believe that children flourish when home and school work together. We encourage parents to become involved in their children’s education and the life of the school. We aim to work with parents and carers to develop caring attitudes, thoughtfulness, mutual respect, self discipline, self confidence and good manners alongside academic progress. We treat all of our pupils as unique individuals who will become independent learners and view their education as a positive experience.
